Restoring structural integrity without disrupting the renovation programme.
During interior renovation works at a school, the existing structural floor slab was found to have deteriorated to the extent that it was no longer fit for use. Ohr evaluated feasible remedial options and developed the structural design for the agreed solution, including measures to achieve the required concrete strength within seven days of casting to minimise disruption to the renovation programme.
The detail retains existing reinforcement over the beams where serviceable. Damaged reinforcement is replaced with bars anchored into the existing work.
The proposal sets out the slab thickness, bonding interface and reinforcement continuity needed for the remedial work. It is presented as a preliminary design option, rather than a record of completed repair.
