Exposed steelwork as an integral part of the architectural expression.
This proposed private residence in Country Heights Damansara, designed by LS Design, is elevated above a hillside on a structural steel frame. With the steel members, connections and profiled metal-deck soffits exposed, the engineering plays a defining role in the building's architectural character.
The exposed steelwork was carefully arranged and detailed to complement the architectural design. Member positions, structural connections and junctions were considered alongside the building's geometry, balancing structural performance with the visual impact of the finished steelwork.
The steel frame accommodates the changing floor levels of the hillside residence and supports the reinforced-concrete pool, integrating its heavier loads into the overall structural scheme.
